Job Details
Job Responsibilities
  • Handle full set of accounts independently, including:
  • Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • General Ledger (GL)
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Journal entries and month-end closing
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, cash flow statements, and financial reports
  • Manage billing, invoicing, and credit control, particularly for logistics / air freight services
  • Monitor cash flow closely and support day-to-day financial operations
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and company secretary
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysia statutory requirements (SST, tax filings, audit matters)
  • Maintain proper documentation and accounting records
  • Support the founder in budgeting, cost control, and basic financial planning
  • Set up and improve finance processes, controls, and SOPs suitable for a start-up environment
  • Assist in basic payroll coordination and HR-related finance matters (outsourced payroll setup)
  • Handle ad-hoc finance and administrative tasks as required
Job Requirements
  • Diploma / Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 5–8 years of relevant accounting / finance experience
  • Strong experience handling full set of accounts independently
  • Prior experience in logistics / freight forwarding / air freight services is highly preferred
  • Mandarin-speaking is mandatory (to liaise with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders and partners)
  • Familiar with Malaysian accounting standards and statutory requirements
  • Comfortable working in a lean start-up environment
  • Highly hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
  • Experience with accounting systems (e.g. SQL, AutoCount, Xero, etc.) is an advantage
