- Establish office in Penang (location scouting, fit-out, IT, branding).
- Register with authorities and ensure customs/port compliance.
- Build local SOPs aligned with HQ policies.
- Develop relationships with airport handlers, customs, and government bodies.
- Recruit and lead operations staff (coordinators, drivers, documentation).
- Oversee daily airfreight activities: bookings, clearance, trucking, documentation.
- Ensure compliance with IATA and Malaysian regulations.
- Manage airline/agent relationships and monitor KPIs (timeliness, accuracy, turnaround).
- Handle special shipments (AOG, DG, cold chain).
- Build and train CS team to deliver high service standards.
- Implement workflows for quotations, updates, and issue resolution.
- Own branch P&L (revenue, margin, costs, profit).
- Report monthly performance to HQ.
- Manage budgets and drive cost efficiency.
- Align revenue targets with company business plan.
- Prospect and secure new clients in Penang’s key industries (electronics, semiconductor, medical devices, aerospace, manufacturing).
- Build client portfolio (SMEs and MNCs).
- Collaborate with HQ Sales on pricing and proposals.
- Represent company at industry events and associations.
- Cross-sell full service portfolio (cold chain, DG, AOG, clearance, door-to-door).
Job Requirement:
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in air freight, freight forwarding, or logistics
- Minimum 3 years in a branch management, operations management, or senior leadership role
- Proven track record of P&L ownership or managing a revenue-generating unit
- Strong knowledge of Penang's industrial and manufacturing landscape
- Experience handling time-critical, DG, cold chain, or AOG shipments is a strong advantage
